Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American Southern rock-band and members of the band include Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, Leon Wilkeson, Bob Burns, Billy Powell, Ed King, Artimus Pyle and Steve Gaines. The name of the LynyrdSkynyrd band was my backward which was formed in 1964 and name of the band was changed several times and in 1968 they won battle of bands contest, by using that money they recorded the songs like need all my friends and Michelle, the former released as their debut single on Jacksonville-based Shade Tree Records.
In 1970s, Heyday, Lynryd Skynyrd emerged as the preeminent practitioners of Southern rock. They curved a permanent spot on the palylists of classic rock radio with their triple-guitar attack and country-tinged songs. They have received more airplay than anything, since their first release in 1973 a epic hit ?Freebird?, it was the ?Stairway to Heaven.? The tragic deaths in plane crash in 1977 lost a lead guitar Steven Gaines and lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zandt, which cut down the band at its peak. Later, after parting ways for several years, the members who were surviving, re-formed the group, with Van Zandt?s little brother Johnny at the helm.
