Information on Death Cab For Cutie
Bellingham,Washington 1997, Death Cab for Cutie was formed. It is an american rock band. It has got his name from satirical song performed by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band on their 1967 album Gorilla. The song was also performed in a striptease act in The Beatles's film Magical Mystery Tour.
Death Cab for Cutie began as a solo project of Ben Gibbard while he was the guitar player for the band Pinwheel . As Death Cab for Cutie, Gibbard released a cassette, titled You Can Play These Songs with Chords.With surprisingly success of cassette Gibbard decided to expand the band and recruited Christopher Walla as an electric guitarist, Nicholas Harmer on bass, and Nathan Good to play drums and in 1998 these combination released the LP Something About Airplanes in the summer. The album got favorable reviews from the independent music scene, and in 2000, the follow-up was released.
